"Colour in My Life" by Jonty Hurwitz
London, 29th August 2025 — Crane Court Gallery announces Out of the Unseen - an immersive sculptural journey, a new solo London exhibition by internationally renowned sculptor Jonty Hurwitz, conceived in collaboration with Yifat Davidoff, the artist’s Creative Director. Running from 18 September - 15 November 2025, the exhibition is the most comprehensive presentation of his sculptural work to date and features a new body of work on view for the first time.
Out of the Unseen explores the shifting nature of perception and the idea that the truth is often concealed in plain sight. At the heart of Hurwitz’s practice is anamorphosis, sculptural forms that appear fractured or indecipherable until revealed through a precise angle or reflection. Hurwitz’s sculptures blend science and art, weaving together mathematical modelling, art history, AI, digital technologies and emotion, asking how we see, what we believe and what remains unseen.
Jonty Hurwitz said: “If you give each work in the exhibition time and look at the sculpture from different perspectives, you'll discover that a new reality will emerge from the unseen.”
The exhibition revisits one of Hurwitz’s seminal works, the Hurwitz Singularity, a landmark exploration of perception and the paradox of existence. Alongside new and signature works, The Not Self, Third Kiss, Long Day in Pretoria with Frog, Colour in My Life, and Flicker of Form, the emotionally charged works pay homage to Hurwitz’s muses, perception and love - for his wife Yifat, his South African childhood and the profound and lasting influence of his father.
Hurwitz brings anamorphosis into the digital age. His sculpture builds on a tradition that began with Renaissance artists like Leonardo da Vinci and Hans Holbein. In pieces such as Holbein in Other Dimensions he brings a fascination with distortion and perspective into the present, using AI and algorithmic modelling to challenge what we accept as reality in a post-truth world.
Estelle Lovatt BBC Radio 2 art critic said: “If Leonardo da Vinci were alive today, he would have been doing what Jonty is doing. He would have been using algorithms. No one else works like him today. His art is the mix between the emotional and the intelligent. That’s what gives it that spark.”
Hurwitz’s sculpture has broken world record’s including the world’s smallest sculpture of a living creature and the smallest sculpture of a human figure, visible only under electron microscopy.

6 March - 11 April 2025
Whether an undulating form cast in bronze or carved in marble or a painting comprising the most refined of strokes, the process behind the finished creation is often hidden from view. We contemplate art in its finished state admiring the hard work and toil of the artist but what of the journey they took to arrive there?
For a sculpture to come to life in bronze, a team of artisans must come together, each with their own specialism refined over years, to realise the vision of the artist.
To take a block of raw marble, tens of millions of years old, and transform it into a thing of beauty, hundreds of tiny adjustments and decisions must be made. An intuitive process of subtraction.
Painters often start with sketches and studies to build a narrative (the skeleton) before layers of oils or acrylics are applied to create depth and feeling.
Alongside artworks covering a range of mediums, the exhibition will present visual references, studies and elements of process crucial to the creation of the finished articles.
The exhibition runs from March 6th till April 11th inclusive.
A private view evening will take place on March 6th, please RSVP to Alex Prior to register your interest in attending.
