I used to think that my glorious giving was my gift. I have learned now that the gift I was receiving was the grace with which the receivers were receiving.This artwork is a homage to the beauty and humility in receiving. The distorted image of the hand, when seen directly, represents our often-misguided perceptions of giving and receiving. We sometimes see our acts of generosity as the end itself, but this view is incomplete, fragmented. It's only when we look through the mirror – when we shift our perspective – that the true nature of giving and receiving becomes clear. The hand in the mirror is not just a giver but also a receiver, gracefully accepting the gifts offered by others.Through this piece, I invite you to reconsider the dynamics of giving and receiving. It's a reminder that in the act of receiving graciously, we offer a gift just as valuable as any material offering. This sculpture is an exploration of the balance and beauty in both giving and receiving, an artistic interpretation of the emotional and spiritual exchanges that define our human connections.
