I See is not just another Paint by Numbers kit. It began as a collaboration between human vision, artistic mastery and artificial intelligence — a meeting point between the analogue and the computational, the handmade and the impossible. The original artwork was created with the extraordinary painter Paul Beel, whose sensitivity to detail and instinct for powerful, expressive brushwork bring the image its emotional depth. Paul’s eye is rare. His ability to balance precision with freedom gives I See its soul. At the same time, this work belongs to a new moment in human creativity. Its development synchronised with the emergence of Large Language Models and modern AI tools — technologies that helped unlock a visual concept that would otherwise have been mathematically out of reach. But AI was only the beginning. What followed was months, and then years, of human collaboration: artists, engineers, printers, paint makers, scanners, packagers, museums, galleries, and makers all contributing to bring the idea into the physical world.
