Collaboration between Paul Beel and Jonty Hurwitz An island rises from the expanse of ocean, its contours assembling into the unmistakable form of an eye. What first appears as landscape gradually transforms into presence, reminding us that the world does not merely receive our gaze—it returns it.This metamorphic vision evokes the paradox of perspective: we look outward to comprehend the vastness, yet within that vastness we find ourselves seen. Like tides governed by distant forces, the painting gestures to our embeddedness in systems larger than our understanding.
