For as long as I can remember, dance has been a deep and fundamental part of my life. My mother and sister have always had a passion for ballet, and I spent many long childhood days floating around that scene. Somehow unwittingly, it evolved into something I so sincerely appreciate in adulthood. What can I say… I’ve been known to dance a bit over-enthusiastically at festivals, full moon parties, raves, burns, weddings and bar mitzvahs in my day. I’ve been politely asked to leave group dance sessions for a general lack of ability, albeit with high enthusiasm levels. So when my galleries and wife both asked for a dancer… The challenge inspired me. I started pondering my dancing… but the prospect of a sculpture of me dancing didn’t encourage my children! Next stop, my father (79 years old) offered to pose in a portrait of him doing ballet. That didn’t fly, either. So here we have it. The ballerina. Arabesque.
