CNN’s Ones to Watch follows the creation of one of Jonty Hurwitz’s most celebrated nano sculptures: a microscopic figure of Yifat Davidoff — Hurwitz’s artistic collaborator and lifelong love — dancing delicately on a single strand of human hair. Invisible to the naked eye, the sculpture can only be viewed through a powerful scanning electron microscope.

The documentary accompanies Hurwitz into the laboratories of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in Germany, one of the world’s leading centres for engineering and natural sciences, where art, physics and advanced fabrication technologies converge. There, viewers witness the extraordinary process of creating a new nano sculpture using cutting-edge microfabrication techniques, revealing the intersection of scientific innovation and artistic expression that defines Hurwitz’s work.
